3/8/08 Senior Michael Kilburg posts fourth-best 5,000-meter time in the nation this season SEATTLE, Wash. --- Senior Michael Kilburg ran a University of Portland school record time of 13:49.88 in the 5,000 meter run at the UW Last Chance Indoor Saturday to earn a provisional qualification to the 2008 NCAA Indoor Championships.
The time bested Joe Driscoll’s school indoor record of 13:58 and also marks the fourth fastest time in the nation this season.
“Kilburg has probably worked harder than any runner in school history,” Portland head coach Rob Conner said. “His time is richly deserved. I am extremely happy for him.”
